In order to guarantee access to the riad at any hour there is either someone onsite or a key is at the disposition of clients so they may come and go at their own rhythm.

location and size…

The majority of partner riads and dars are located in the medinas (ancient city centers), and within short walking distance to important monuments, museums and the bazaars. The Marrakech and Essaouira medinas are not immense and you are within walking distance to everything. The Fez medina is quite large however, though we have chosen partners that are well situated, allowing easy and quick access to most of the major sites.

In the rare event a property is located outide of the medinas, it is clearly indicated on the property description page.

Member properties are of a discreet size and are typically comprised of 4 to 12 rooms or suites. Some properties are composed of several riads that have been interconnected, providing guests with open air courtyards and galleries opening onto each other.

authenticity…

Partner establishments are traditionally Moroccan in architecture and many in their appointment. The use of traditional Moroccan materials can be seen in almost every aspect of the renovations. Most riads have used tadlekt in their construction which keeps the residence cool even during the warmest summer months. Riads open onto interior courtyards with gardens, fountains and vegetation. Courtyards, rooftop terraces, and communal living and dining rooms are at the guests disposition.

tradition and culture…

Properties distributed through Hotels & Ryads cater to occidental clients and guests are not expected to adhere to the Muslim lifestyle and traditions. This being said, visitors should show respect for these traditions and customs.

Indecent clothing should not be worn in any public areas, especially in the derbs of the medina and on the terraces of the riads.

Respect the privacy of neighbors whose homes are visible from the terraces.

Respect of other guests and neighbors of the riad in terms of late nights on the terraces and in the courtyards and to keep noise to a reasonable low level.

legalities and legislation…

The majority of riads in operation are not insured or declared to the Moroccan government. This is not the case with our partners. All properties distributed by Hotels & Ryads are declared and conform to legal regulations and obligations in place in Morocco in terms of lodging and are insured as lodging providers and for civil responsibility.
