A leisurely breakfast on the rooftop terrace, enjoying the spectacular ocean view, is the best way to start your days at the Ryad Watier. Take your time to plan a walk in the medina, on the beach, to the port…or perhaps to steal a few minutes to read or treat yourself to an invigorating massage with Argan oil or a séance in the hammam.

The magic begins on the vegetated central patio and the surrounding communal areas including a lounge area with a fireplace, a library with more than 2000 volumes, the kitchen, and a dining room… These spaces are organized around the passageways of the interior patio that will lead you to a small garden, hammam and massage room. Organized on four different levels that lead to two rooftop terraces with spectacular ocean views, the riad proposes 10 suites.

A warm welcome awaits you from the attentive and efficient staff of this traditional guesthouse. Traditional meals are prepared with fresh ingredients selected daily in the local markets and at the port.

Originally constructed to house a school and later abandoned and falling into ruins, this residence has been entirely renovated by local artisans respecting historical Moroccan architectural traditions. Succeeding in creating a haven of peace and tranquility, the Ryad Watier proposes a complete immersion in traditional Moroccan hospitality and charm.

The riad is named after Watier, an inspector of water and forests, who contributed enormously to the preservation of Essaouira and the bay by directing a support system of the dunes surrounding the city.

Tourism taxes (generally not included in the room rate).
Moroccan riads ‘guesthouses’ have to collect 2 taxes upon their guests:
- Tourism Promotion Tax (TPT): the amount of the tax depends on the property category, 8 or 11 dirhams per people per night. That tax is collected by the properties and integrally put back into Morocco National Tourist Office.
- City Tax (from January 2008): like the hotels and restaurants, ‘guesthouses’ must now collect the City tax. The amount of the City tax is 15 dirhams per people (older than 12 y-o) and per night.

RESERVATION AND CANCELLATION POLICY

In the event of a reservation cancellation, the Riad Watier will apply the following cancellation policy and will charge any applicable fees to the client credit card used during the reservation process :
-Cancellations received 21-30 days before the confirmed arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of 30% of total projected room costs.
-Cancellations received 11-20 days before the confirmed arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of total projected room costs.
-Cancellations received 0-10 days before the confirmed arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of 100% of total projected room costs.

Cancellation fees will be charged to the credit card supplied during the reservation process.
